John G. B. Boyd - President
John G. B. Boyd, is a native New Orleanian and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana.  His professional experience includes over twelve years of hands on convention security management and sales in New Orleans, Atlanta, and Chicago.  Prior to his entering the contract security management field, John spent fifteen years in hotel management in New Orleans and Washington, D.C.  During his youth, John served as Congressional Page to the late Hale Boggs, Democratic “whip”, and his tenure in the mid-1980’s at the Madison Hotel in Washington, D.C. was like coming home.  Here he was in charge of all rooms related services, including the Office of Security.  As Security Division Manager, he had extensive dealings with the United States Secret Service and the White House Chief of Protocol concerning state visits based from the Madison Hotel.  (The hotel served as official diplomatic residence for national state visits during the renovation of Blair House.)

The transition from hotel to convention and contract security was an easy one for John, due to his extensive experience in hotel and special interest security as well as his contacts in the hospitality industry nationwide. One of John’s proudest moments was being called upon to coordinate the security and protocol expertise for the inauguration of the Mayor of New Orleans, Marc M. Morial.   In addition to a long list of clients who hail from all over the world, he is a preferred supplier for the New Orleans Marriott and Sheraton Hotel. John continues to provide security know how for Mardi Gras parades, Carnival balls and the New Orleans Opera, an activity in which his family has been involved since 1927.  Additionally, several annual citywide festivals, including the French Quarter Festival, the New Orleans Wine and Food Experience and the Bayou Classic depend on John for advice, coordination and staffing.

After several years in the trade show security business, John founded Alamo Services, named in respect for an ancestor who died at the Siege of the Alamo.   His mission is to carry on the tradition of the Alamo in commitment, service and dedication to his obligations.

John is a member of IAEM, PCMA, and MPI, and is an active member of the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association.  He serves on the Board of Directors of the Greater New Orleans Boy Scout Council and is a member of the Board of Directors of Save Our Cemeteries, an organization dedicated to the preservation of New Orleans' historical cemeteries.  John is married to Bonnie Boyd, who is President of BBC Destination Management.  He has been told that he is an excellent dancer, but is probably only a passable golfer.  His dog, Winnie,  a Chesapeake Bay Retriever,
thinks his game is really off.

Zina M. Johnson - State License In-House Trainer
Zina M. Johnson is a native New Orleanian and a graduate of McDonogh #35 College Preparatory High School.  Like other members of the Alamo team, Zina offers a deep and varied background in the security field both in New Orleans and in Washington, D.C.

In New Orleans, Zina continued her education at NOCCA, the New Orleans
Center for the Creative Arts and in Washington at the University of the District of Columbia. Her professional security experience includes over ten collective years in the field of law enforcement and corrections starting with four years with the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff’s Office in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Later, during the same time that John Boyd was in Washington, Zina served over six years with the District of Columbia Department of Corrections.  Here she received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the District and was promoted to the rank of Corporal.  Security related volunteer activism included Board liaison in the early days of the District’s Guardian Angels.

Zina is licensed with the State of
Louisiana as an in-house classroom instructor.  She is experienced in martial arts, in the use of various types of fire arms and in the use of PR-24's. Also certified for CPR, she is a comfort to have around. She is now a senior member of Alamo Services where she oversees the administration and guard training departments of the headquarters office.

At home with two young sons, Justice and Shamel, and her husband, a licensed barber and car salesman, Zina spends her very little leisure time singing with the Voices of New Orleans, reading  and furthering her artwork.
